Koi Hacienda export to Fuerteventura - 29/08/2008
Koi Hacienda has successfully exported 66 Koi to Fuerteventura (Canary Islands).
This task came on request of a Spanish client who bought de Koi via internet. The client asked us to organize this export, because of the good quality of Koi in Koi Hacienda.
The 66 Koi were packed and were sent by air under our supervision.
The packing, transport to the Malaga airport, the flight via Madrid to Fuerteventura and the drive up to the final destination took about 28 hours. All our Japanese Koi arrived in perfect health.
Once more, Koi Hacienda proved that they are highly specialized and skilled in handling Koi, only the best will do.
If you have second thoughts about buying a beautiful Koi at Koi Hacienda, you can be sure that neither the distance, the transport nor the journey are of any problem!
Visit Koi show Arcen Holland - 21/08/2008
On the 15th, 16th and 17th of august, we visited again the biggest Koi show on earth in the Netherlands.
Many new inventions and filtration systems were on display.
The MultiCyclone caught our attention. It provides centrifugal prefiltration.
We saw it working and were immediately convinced of its efficiency.
The MultiCyclone is ideal for prefiltrations in closed circuits, e.g. with a Bead filter.
It filters up to 80 micron, and the rinsing only takes 15 litres of water.
That way, you can save time on cleaning the bead filter and save water as well!

Beside all technical stuff there were of course the magnificent, beautiful Koi swimming lazy and very confident in their ponds. After some very thorough full examinations we can assure our clients that Koi Hacienda is not the least on the international set!

KOI HACIENDA EXPORTS TO GERMANY - 14/07/2008
Koi hacienda has successfully exported 21 Koi, larger than 65 cm to Germany.
This task came on request of a German client who bought Koi in our shop, and wanted them delivered to Germany. The client asked us to organize this export, because she couldn’t find the same quality of Koi in Germany, at least not at the same reasonable prices.
The 21 Koi were packed in 17 boxes, one of them wood, and were sent by air under our supervision to Frankfurt.
The packing, transport to the Malaga airport, the flight to Frankfurt and the drive up to the final destination took about 16 hours. All our Japanese Koi arrived in perfect health.
The moment we delivered the Koi at Malaga airport, it was 35,5°C! it took great experience and expertise to work in this high temperature. Irresponsible? No!
We took special precautions to avoid the risks of “overheating“ For Koi hacienda, the client’s wish is our command, and we will always try to live up to the expectations.
Once more, Koi hacienda proved that they are highly specialized and skilled in handling Koi, only the best will do.

Japantrip march 2008 - 19/03/2008
This spring again, our Koi hunting in Niigata was both captivating and successful.
Thanks to our excellent contacts with the breeders, we bring along an exceptional offer in varieties, including 25 pieces of one-year old Tancho’s (18-20 cm).
All our Koi are expected to arrive at Koi Hacienda end of March, and will be for sale after three weeks of quarantine.

2 day Koi Seminar - 05/12/2007
Spring 2008 (5th and 6th of April) , Koi Hacienda will hold a 2 day meeting for all Koi lovers.
Following subjects will be discussed: Pond and filtration, water management, healthcare of the Koi, food, Koi varieties etc…
Our purpose is to give a general overview, later evaluation will show if there is enough demand for a more detailed lesson.
The meeting will be held in the Estepona region, and in the Spanish language.
The lessons will only take place if there are at least 30 participants, and if we find sponsors to contribute in the financial costs.
We are looking now for a suitable hotel for those who want to stay.
Of course a visit to Koi hacienda is included!
More information will later on be given to those inscribed.

Koi meeting 23 November - 05/12/2007
The Koi meeting with drinks and food in Koi Hacienda was (according to our clients) a perfect, cozy and interesting event. They liked the relaxed contact with other Koi lovers.
Both Spanish and non Spanish guests were highly interested in our new Koi, and the enlargement of our premises.
Customers asked themselves who owned the most beautiful Koi, while the “beginners” decided as from now on to buy only real Japanese Koi at Koi Hacienda.
The power point presentation about our work in the mud ponds, an intervention on a Koi and the Koi selection gave another view of our activities.
Afterwards we went to visit one of our realized projects. Unanimously everybody found the crystal-clear water and the filtration breathtaking!
People become more and more convinced that the Koi hobby in Andalusia has a lot to offer!

Marvellous Koi hunting in Japan - 28/10/2007
Only just arrived from the “Koi harvest” in Japan, we are satisfied with the exceptional Koi we could purchase. We were really the first in Niigata . We participated in emptying various ponds and at others breeders’ place we chose the Koi while they were being unloaded from the trucks, bringing them in from the mud ponds!
We may already announce you we could lay our hands on some long awaited beautiful Tancho’s, 2 and 3 years old, with snow-white bodies and a spotless red circle on the head.
Of course this is not all; we really brought home some very special Koi.
You can come and admire them as from 24th of November, after the quarantine. As you know, we don’t wish to sell fish which are not 100% disease-free. We always guarantee the origin and the health of our Koi.

Finally! Our new Koi arrived from Japan. - 27/03/2007
After three weeks of quarantine at their breeders place, they were controlled by veterinarians and flown to Madrid in “top shape”.
We will keep them further three weeks in quarantine for the following reasons:
1. To distress them after the long journey. Stress is the killer n° 1.
2. To make sure the fish will be delivered to you in perfect health, as always.
What about this quarantine?
- we put every “breeder” apart in a pond
- we heat each pond up to 22°C during these three weeks
- if there are viruses or diseases, we can act quickly and appropriate
- to detect diseases, we do the “cross infection test” with our own Koi
- we close during this period, to give them the needed rest
You can already admire all our purchases on our website and buy your Koi in advance…
For the little Koi 8-10 cm (12 €): you can only buy four of them. If you want more, you have to choose a bigger one to go with each four little ones…
As from Thursday the 12th of April you can come and visit our swimming jewels in reality.

Koi hunting in Japan - 19/02/2007
We are on Koi hunting as from 20 th until the 28 of February. We are looking for the best quality with a reasonable price. As from 2 March we will publish the first photographs. The Kois we have really bought will be on the website as from they arrive in the Koi Hacienda. You can buy de the Koi as from they are out of quarantine and this will be in April.

Gradually we are reaching the completion of our koi Hacienda - 19/02/2006
We will be delighted to open our doors very soon, not only to the connoisseurs amongst you but also to those not so well accustomed with Koi and whom we can therefore help with our advice.
Remember you should only buy your Koi at a specialists place! Those businesses are of course the most capable of helping you with the purchase and subsequent care of these 'living jewels' Although not all the Koi have to be champions, they still are living creatures who can, with good treatment, grow into beautiful, tame and precious animals.
The laboratory is the first fully equipped place. Here we have all materials and products at hand to ensure you an outstanding after-sale service! Both water and Koi can be examined to ensure we will not let anything unforeseen happen, because the Koi are too precious to us!!
The first incident has already taken place. One amongst you came to find us with a rather damaged Matsuba Oranji. We anaesthetised the fish and took slime samples to make sure there were no parasites involved and also took bacteria samples. The results gave us the opportunity to prescribe the right antibiotics as a support for the local treatment and to avoid further complications. Because of the size of the wound these methods were necessary. The Koi is still with us, swimming happily in our pond so we can keep it under observation although so far everything seems to be restored positively.
We are preparing ourselves for the trip to Japan end of March. The quarantine tanks are ready to receive the Koi which we will pick out ourselves in Japan and which we will keep for 6 weeks under surveillance at Koi Hacienda. As a result you will be able to take the chosen fish (es) home with peace of mind.
We will keep you posted about our purchases in Japan and we will put the photos on our web site as soon as possible. We like to point out our power point presentation under the heading ' news'¯. It's all about our previous Koi hunting in Japan.
Most importantly, we are pleased to announce that from the 28th of April you can expect a warm welcome on your first visit to Koi Hacienda without any commitment.
You can already choose your fish(es), and then leave them with us during quarantine. Also food, water treatment products and others are at your disposal and can be purchased from that moment on. You have to remember that we only can take cash payments, because the telephone line is not connected yet, in fact, there is no telephone net at all at this moment! Our apologies for this inconvenience!!
How about the problem of the high summer temperatures in the south? Our Koi can resist them very well, although you mustn't forget some important things:
- Plan a sufficiently deep pond.
-Put it in a place where there is some shade or where you can create shade.
-Provide additional facilities to give the Koi extra oxygen.
-Feed them with properly adapted food. You can find at Koi Hacienda a very specific program where the food is adapted to high temperatures (and not unimportantly) gives less waste, which will create less nitrates thus less algae.
-You shouldn't forget that algae live here under ideal conditions: lots of light and warmth. Therefore we recommend using an extra UV lamp to fight their development.
-Regulate the feeding routine above 28°C. Give less and keep an eye on their behaviour.
-Try to keep the water temperature under 32°C. Strong fish can stand warmer but you had better take no risks.

Trip to Japan - 01/02/2006
On our previous trip to Japan in March ’05 we bought our (anticipated) champion. It is a Nisai Matsunosuke Sanke with a new type of sumi and a length of 30 cm. It’s a new bloodline and descendant of the Magoi, thus growth assured! He will stay at least 2 years in the mud ponds of top breeder Toshio Sakai. It is our purpose to provide you in the future with Koi of this quality. Take a look and see for yourself the fine quality of the sumi !
Building in Manilva - 25/01/2006
For our premises, Koi Hacienda looked for an easy accessible place, so we have build our site near the exit 142 of the AP 7 in Manilva. It is a building with 2 floors, containing showroom, quarantine, lab, shop and offices. The aim is to create “space and light”. The big show pond (central point in the building) reflects our logo and creates a typical Andalusian atmosphere. You will be able to enjoy undisturbed the beauty of our Koi.
Like everywhere in the world there is a delay in our construction. Changes, difference in ideas and extra needs give us now the expected delay.
Our filter systems are actually running and are ripening so they will be able to perform the big work.
The opening of Koi Hacienda is scheduled for April.

KOI HACIENDA EXPORTS TO GERMANY - 14/07/2008

Koi hacienda has successfully exported 21 Koi, larger than 65 cm to Germany.This task came on request of a German client who bought Koi in our shop, and wanted them delivered to Germany. The client asked us to organize this export, because she couldn’t find the same quality of Koi in Germany, at least not at the same reasonable prices.
The 21 Koi were packed in 17 boxes, one of them wood, and were sent by air under our supervision to Frankfurt.
The packing, transport to the Malaga airport, the flight to Frankfurt and the drive up to the final destination took about 16 hours. All our Japanese Koi arrived in perfect health.
The moment we delivered the Koi at Malaga airport, it was 35,5°C! it took great experience and expertise to work in this high temperature. Irresponsible? No!
We took special precautions to avoid the risks of “overheating“ For Koi hacienda, the client’s wish is our command, and we will always try to live up to the expectations.
Once more, Koi hacienda proved that they are highly specialized and skilled in handling Koi, only the best will do.
If you have second thoughts about buying a beautiful Koi at Koi hacienda, you can be sure that neither the distance, the transport nor the journey are of any problem!

This spring again, our Koi hunting in Niigata was both captivating and successful.Thanks to our excellent contacts with the breeders, we bring along an exceptional offer in varieties, including 25 pieces of one-year old Tancho’s (18-20 cm).
All our Koi are expected to arrive at Koi Hacienda end of March, and will be for sale after three weeks of quarantine.

Spring 2008 (5th and 6th of April) , Koi Hacienda will hold a 2 day meeting for all Koi lovers.Following subjects will be discussed: Pond and filtration, water management, healthcare of the Koi, food, Koi varieties etc…
Our purpose is to give a general overview, later evaluation will show if there is enough demand for a more detailed lesson.
The meeting will be held in the Estepona region, and in the Spanish language.
The lessons will only take place if there are at least 30 participants, and if we find sponsors to contribute in the financial costs.
We are looking now for a suitable hotel for those who want to stay.
Of course a visit to Koi hacienda is included!
More information will later on be given to those inscribed.

The Koi meeting with drinks and food in Koi Hacienda was (according to our clients) a perfect, cozy and interesting event. They liked the relaxed contact with other Koi lovers.Both Spanish and non Spanish guests were highly interested in our new Koi, and the enlargement of our premises.
Customers asked themselves who owned the most beautiful Koi, while the “beginners” decided as from now on to buy only real Japanese Koi at Koi Hacienda.
The power point presentation about our work in the mud ponds, an intervention on a Koi and the Koi selection gave another view of our activities.
Afterwards we went to visit one of our realized projects. Unanimously everybody found the crystal-clear water and the filtration breathtaking!
People become more and more convinced that the Koi hobby in Andalusia has a lot to offer!

Only just arrived from the “Koi harvest” in Japan, we are satisfied with the exceptional Koi we could purchase. We were really the first in Niigata . We participated in emptying various ponds and at others breeders’ place we chose the Koi while they were being unloaded from the trucks, bringing them in from the mud ponds!We may already announce you we could lay our hands on some long awaited beautiful Tancho’s, 2 and 3 years old, with snow-white bodies and a spotless red circle on the head.
Of course this is not all; we really brought home some very special Koi.
You can come and admire them as from 24th of November, after the quarantine. As you know, we don’t wish to sell fish which are not 100% disease-free. We always guarantee the origin and the health of our Koi.

After three weeks of quarantine at their breeders place, they were controlled by veterinarians and flown to Madrid in “top shape”.We will keep them further three weeks in quarantine for the following reasons:
1. To distress them after the long journey. Stress is the killer n° 1.
2. To make sure the fish will be delivered to you in perfect health, as always.
What about this quarantine?
- we put every “breeder” apart in a pond
- we heat each pond up to 22°C during these three weeks
- if there are viruses or diseases, we can act quickly and appropriate
- to detect diseases, we do the “cross infection test” with our own Koi
- we close during this period, to give them the needed rest
You can already admire all our purchases on our website and buy your Koi in advance…
For the little Koi 8-10 cm (12 €): you can only buy four of them. If you want more, you have to choose a bigger one to go with each four little ones…

Gradually we are reaching the completion of our koi Hacienda - 19/02/2006
We will be delighted to open our doors very soon, not only to the connoisseurs amongst you but also to those not so well accustomed with Koi and whom we can therefore help with our advice.
Remember you should only buy your Koi at a specialists place! Those businesses are of course the most capable of helping you with the purchase and subsequent care of these 'living jewels' Although not all the Koi have to be champions, they still are living creatures who can, with good treatment, grow into beautiful, tame and precious animals.
The laboratory is the first fully equipped place. Here we have all materials and products at hand to ensure you an outstanding after-sale service! Both water and Koi can be examined to ensure we will not let anything unforeseen happen, because the Koi are too precious to us!!
The first incident has already taken place. One amongst you came to find us with a rather damaged Matsuba Oranji. We anaesthetised the fish and took slime samples to make sure there were no parasites involved and also took bacteria samples. The results gave us the opportunity to prescribe the right antibiotics as a support for the local treatment and to avoid further complications. Because of the size of the wound these methods were necessary. The Koi is still with us, swimming happily in our pond so we can keep it under observation although so far everything seems to be restored positively.
We are preparing ourselves for the trip to Japan end of March. The quarantine tanks are ready to receive the Koi which we will pick out ourselves in Japan and which we will keep for 6 weeks under surveillance at Koi Hacienda. As a result you will be able to take the chosen fish (es) home with peace of mind.
We will keep you posted about our purchases in Japan and we will put the photos on our web site as soon as possible. We like to point out our power point presentation under the heading ' news'¯. It's all about our previous Koi hunting in Japan.
Most importantly, we are pleased to announce that from the 28th of April you can expect a warm welcome on your first visit to Koi Hacienda without any commitment.
You can already choose your fish(es), and then leave them with us during quarantine. Also food, water treatment products and others are at your disposal and can be purchased from that moment on. You have to remember that we only can take cash payments, because the telephone line is not connected yet, in fact, there is no telephone net at all at this moment! Our apologies for this inconvenience!!
How about the problem of the high summer temperatures in the south? Our Koi can resist them very well, although you mustn't forget some important things:
- Plan a sufficiently deep pond.
-Put it in a place where there is some shade or where you can create shade.
-Provide additional facilities to give the Koi extra oxygen.
-Feed them with properly adapted food. You can find at Koi Hacienda a very specific program where the food is adapted to high temperatures (and not unimportantly) gives less waste, which will create less nitrates thus less algae.
-You shouldn't forget that algae live here under ideal conditions: lots of light and warmth. Therefore we recommend using an extra UV lamp to fight their development.
-Regulate the feeding routine above 28°C. Give less and keep an eye on their behaviour.
-Try to keep the water temperature under 32°C. Strong fish can stand warmer but you had better take no risks.

Trip to Japan - 01/02/2006

On our previous trip to Japan in March ’05 we bought our (anticipated) champion. It is a Nisai Matsunosuke Sanke with a new type of sumi and a length of 30 cm. It’s a new bloodline and descendant of the Magoi, thus growth assured! He will stay at least 2 years in the mud ponds of top breeder Toshio Sakai. For our premises, Koi Hacienda looked for an easy accessible place, so we have build our site near the exit 142 of the AP 7 in Manilva. It is a building with 2 floors, containing showroom, quarantine, lab, shop and offices. The aim is to create “space and light”. The big show pond (central point in the building) reflects our logo and creates a typical Andalusian atmosphere. You will be able to enjoy undisturbed the beauty of our Koi. Like everywhere in the world there is a delay in our construction. Changes, difference in ideas and extra needs give us now the expected delay.
Our filter systems are actually running and are ripening so they will be able to perform the big work.
The opening of Koi Hacienda is scheduled for April.
